AlHajraf is a distinguished policy maker, regulator, and business leader. He is the 6th Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, serving from 2020 to 2023, and Kuwait’s 19th Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Kuwait Investment Authority, serving from 2017 to 2019. As Kuwait’s chief securities regulator he was instrumental in the development of Kuwait’s securities market when he served as Kuwait Capital Markets Authority’s Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners from 2014 to 2017.
In addition to his primary roles, AlHajraf has served on various policy and corporate boards, including Kuwait’s Supreme Petroleum Council, Bahrain and Kuwait Bank, and the Arab Investment Company.
AlHajraf holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hull, and served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Kuwait’s Gulf University for Science and Technology early in his career.
Alothman is an experienced investment professional with more than 25 years’ experience in investment management, portfolio restructuring, and organizational turnaround. He served in key leadership roles throughout his career, including his most recent position as the Director General of Kuwait's Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS). Previously, he served as the Deputy Director of Investments and Operations of PIFSS and as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) where he led the rebuilding and growing one of the region’s largest portfolios.
Alothman is a seasoned governance executive who has served on and chaired boards across different industries, including Chairman of AUB Group and Chairman of Wafra Intervest Corporation among other notable appointments. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida.
Alnusf has over 25 years’ experience in investment management and is the former Deputy Director for Investments and Operations of Kuwait's Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS). He was part of the leadership team that steered the institution’s turn-around and, building on the works of his predecessors, he later led the reconstruction of the institution’s portfolio and grew it to new record levels. Prior to his tenure at PIFSS, Alnusf served as the Deputy Director for Investments at the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
He is also a veteran corporate governance executive, having served on various boards and board committees throughout his career. Notable appointments include Vice Chairman of AUB Kuwait, Vice Chairman of Wafra Intervest Corporation, and Chairman of Wafra International. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Kuwait University.
